One simple step toward reaching your family history research goal

We all have objectives for our family history research, even if we haven't enunciated them. A major risk in achieving the goals is heading off along any tantalisingly interesting side track that comes into view. And the best way to avoid that is the discipline of a deadline, corralling your family history research. Committing to a presentation at a specific event is an excellent step.

Speaking to members at BIFHSGO meetings I hear all kinds of stories that would make excellent presentations and bring lessons of value to other researchers. People also tell me about techniques they've found useful. Each has the makings of an interesting presentation.

The end of this month is the deadline for sending in presentation proposals for the annual BIFHSGO Family History Conference, this year September 9 - 11, 2016. Although there are themes, Ireland and DNA, proposals for talks on any topic of interest to attendees are welcome.
