Lambeth images

Lambeth Archives has a collection of over 50,000 photographs, drawings, prints and watercolours with "historic and contemporary pictures of the borough's streets and buildings - from Waterloo through Brixton and Clapham to Streatham and Norwood. There are portraits of the people, the communities and the personalities of Lambeth, its events and disasters."

Online Lambeth Landmark showcases the best images, they don't say how many are online - there are many.

Even though I have no Lambeth ancestry I was interested to see photos of the May 1941 bomb-damaged Necropolis Station which was part of Waterloo Station. That was the end of the line, the dear departed would depart no more on the rail journey to Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey. See the copyright image at http://goo.gl/4kxfl

My husband has quite a bit of Lambeth ancestry (Oy!), so thanks for this!
